  • Andrill Climate Change -teachers training program: Presented climate change related research to school teachers “Crop water use efficiency in response to climate change”, November 1-2, 2010

  • Kids Tech University: Demonstrated “Mutants of Plants” to ~200 school students (March 2009) http://kidstechuniversity.vbi.vt.edu/
  • VBI High school days: Taught High school students (15 in 2007, 12 in 2009) from Montgomery County, Virginia; representing 9th and 10th grade students as well as students from underrepresented groups. Guided the students through a practical course “Mutants of Plants reveal how Genes Function” where students discussed the significance of genetic analysis of mutants to plant biology.
  • Multicultural Academic Opportunities Program (MAOP-VT): Hosted MAOP student for Bioinformatics training during summer and mentoring during the year, resulting in poster presentation at national conference:
