CSES 2009 Soil Judging Team

The University of Arkansas Soil Judging Team, coached by Dr. Kristofor R. Brye, competed in the Region IV Soil Judging Contest that was hosted by Texas Tech University on October 22nd and 23rd in Lubbock, TX. The team placed second in the two-pit, team-judged potion of the contest. In the four-pit, individual-judged portion of the contest, Shu Kuroishi finished as the sixth-high individual and Chessica Rizley finished as the third-high individual. Based on these results, the University of Arkansas finished in third place overall, behind Oklahoma State (second place) and Texas A&M University (first place), earning an opportunity to compete in the National Soil Judging Contest to be hosted by Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX again in Spring 2010. This will be the second trip to the National contest that the University of Arkansas Soil Judging Team has earned in the last nine years.
