Environmental & Agricultural Sustainability Field Day
Faculty members in the University of Arkansas Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences conducted an Environmental & Agricultural Sustainability Field Day Oct. 7 for area high school students.
Students from Fayetteville and Bentonville high schools toured research plots at the Arkansas Agricultural Research and Extension Center (formerly known as the UA farm) from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Rain date is 10/14.
The AAREC is a unit of the statewide University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture. It includes laboratories, greenhouses and field research plots in several disciplines of agricultural and environmental sciences.
The field day tour included research by CSES faculty members that relates to crop production, soil and water conservation and sustainability, bio-energy crops, greenhouse gasses and carbon sequestration.
